I am passionate about language and teaching language to children. I'd love to work with students who want to learn Spanish or Russian. It is very rewarding to watch students develop an interest in a language and begin to master it. As a language tutor I inspire my students by showing them the things they share in common with the culture we are studying. Doing this establishes an environment of respect and interest that benefits the student. I do not speak English in my tutoring sessions and I don't allow my students to speak English. I've found that by only using the language that the student is attempting to learn, results come much more quickly. I also encourage my students to speak in sentences rather than just using vocabulary words. This way they are more prepared to use the language in an actual conversation. I try to make all of my tutoring sessions as fun and interesting as possible. I am confident that I can help any student learn a language and the history and culture associated with that language. When I'm not tutoring I enjoy listening to music, traveling the world, meeting new and interesting people, trying new cuisines, reading good books, and swimming.
